Why did humans start writing?

Humans started writing because they wanted to communicate with each other and record their thoughts and events.

Some of the first writing was in the form of hieroglyphics, which was used by the ancient Egyptians. The ancient Sumerians also developed a form of writing called cuneiform, which was used to record trade transactions and other information. The Phoenicians developed an alphabet, which was later adopted by the Greeks. The Romans developed their own alphabet, which is the basis for the modern English alphabet. Humans have developed many different writing systems over the years, but the basic purpose of writing has remained the same: to communicate with others.
